How to find your laptops serial number and check the warranty. Most Lenovo laptops from Projekt Neptun have a 3-year basic warranty.

- Remove all connected devices and power sources from the computer and perform a power reset by inserting the end of a bent paper clip into the emergency reset hole on the bottom of the laptop (see the "Bottom View" section of the User Guide to find the emergency reset hole).
- Reconnect the power adapter and start the computer. If the computer does not start, open a warranty case or contact our support for help if the device is no longer under warranty.

Hardware driver, firmware and BIOS updates from the laptop manufacturer are important. Please install all updates: optional, recommended and critical. Use the Lenovo Vantage app, which is pre-installed on all new Lenovo laptops.

Lenovo Diagnostics comprises a series of tests for various hardware components. Diagnostics is available as a bootable or downloadable package that can run on Windows or Linux operating systems.
