With the NUC devices (NUC = Next Units of Computing), Intel® offers compact, economical, yet powerful Mini PCs. The NUC models are based on laptop chipsets and processors, resulting in very low energy consumption and a small footprint. In idle mode, a NUC needs less than 6 watts and even under full load it only needs about 30 watts. Depending on the equipment, the devices can be used as office PCs or media centers. Normally, Intel® devices are only offered as barebones.
